Someone on the board took offense at me calling Nic Satan a mediocre coach. My contention is that BAMA cheated like MOFO's off and got away with it !!
Dee Liners post with a handful of cash, Ruben Foster was totally committed to Auburn -even got a War Eagles tattoo, then 5 days before signing day changes
to Gumps. I would be a hall of famer to if I paid under the table and got all the best 5 stars. When the playing field got leveled? He quit. He's a POS and cheated,
NCAA had a blind eye on there cash cow. Vols get busted for buying a kid a bag of Tacos while Bama hands out wads of cash, cars, clothes- ??
BUT that's just my take and I'll admit I HATE THE GUMPS, I would like to hear your take on that smurf Satan?

I doubt anyone is actually offended by it. It's just an incredibly dumb take.

Nonsense. Every modern era college football program in America would have traded their coach for Nick Saban. Every single one. And almost none would have needed to think it over, either. "Hey, do you want to trade your guy for Nick Sa-" "YES. VERY YES."

In TierMaker terms, he's S+ tier. There's no one out there who's done it better.

That guy coached his butt off. Heck taking Hurts out and putting a Freshman in the Championship shows the guy coaches to win. Lot of others would have just kept doing what they been doing

although I don't totally agree with the original post, as a VOL fan living in alabama, I assure you, Alabama was far and above the other teams in payout, cars, and other perks.

I don't disagree that Saban wouldn't have been as successful without the best players, but that is what CFB is all about. Get the best players by whatever means you can get away with.

Therefore, he is the GOAT. Nobody else could match until Kirby finally caught up.

1–We openly paid the QB on our last championship team and there were no consequences. I would be shocked if EVERYONE Fulmer coached wasn’t getting a taste.

2- look at the picture of the coaching staff on Bamas 2015 team. That alone should answer your questions.

OP is right that bama has always cheated big time. Probably was still cheating when saban got there. However, he is a great coach and most likely did not have a direct hand in the payments. They had the system perfected so the university officials and coaches were not directly linked to the bagmen that did the dirty work.

Every major program paid players including UT. No team has been relevant in the modern era of football without giving benefits to upper tier players. You can call it cheating or whatever, but everyone was doing it, Saban just did it better without getting caught....so yes he was a great coach.

You obviously don't understand why Saban was a great coach. A lot of schools benefitted from having good player but none had the run of winning Saban did. His defensive philosophy is why he never lost very much. It's ingenious.

If anyone thinks Nick Saban is “mediocre”, they have absolutely no clue about coaching college football. If anything, he was underpaid at Bama for all that he brought to that school. Saban is the best that ever did it and that’s just the way it is.

I always chuckle when these Saban is overrated threads pop up a few times a year. He took over an LSU program that hadn’t won a conference title in 15 years and won one in his second year. They had only won one national title in their history, yet he managed to win one in only his fourth season. He inherited a mediocre Michigan State team, then was hit with NCAA sanctions for violations that occurred under the previous regime, yet he still managed to build them into a top ten team before leaving for Baton Rouge. He’s the best ever, and it’s not really debatable.

Nick Saban is without doubt the best college football coach of all time! He has often times been a huge villain for me, I can’t stand him honestly! But that’s only bc he kept freaking winning year after year after year!!!!!!! In the end though, you gotta respect the GOAT! And Saban is the GOAT!

I say the more of these posts the better. With each one I begin to forgot more of the nearly 20 years of him beating us senseless. I look forward to them weekly.
