Will be interesting to see what direction OU goes in here, especially with both Venables and Moser not exactly on hot seats but their job security seems somewhat shaky. Castiglione is one of the best ADs in the country.

Overall, Castiglione has all of the sports programs doing well. Football and Mens basketball is dragging but overall he’s done well with his hires.

Here comes Mr. White

Didn't he just sign a new contract a few months ago? I don't think he's gonna bolt at this time of year.

January or so may be a different story but I am sure Oklahoma would like to have someone in place by then. If Venables doesn't turn the ship around this fall you could very well have a coaching search being done by some combination of interim and outgoing in that case which is never a good thing

If the football job comes open, I'd look for Kiffin to jump if offered. I expect Venables to have a good year though.

I'm not sure. Kiffin makes $9 million already at OM and doesn't have super high expectations. It isn't a bad gig. To get him to jump, OU (or any school) would likely have to offer Kirby/Day/Dabo money. Would they do that/is he worth that?

Not sure, but I question a lot of high profile jobs that seem to way overpay for the results they get. I think he would have a much better shot at a natty there than he ever will at Ole miss. He claims to have changed a lot from who he used to be, but who knows about all that.

Zac Selmon is probably OU's man but Boise State's Dickey is probably the better pick, just not sure OU would ever hire a Texas Grad.

Good call on Selmon. He'd surely jump at that opportunity.

That's interesting that according to Wiki he's from Norman but played football at Wake Forest. Then came back home for his admin career. He took the Miss St job in 2023. I wonder if he overestimated how long Castiglione would keep working; wonder if he would have just stayed at OU if he knew he would retire in a couple of years.
