First big game of the day. (And honestly this should have probably been the evening game over Georgia playing an unranked 2-loss Auburn).

Off of a win against Georgia and surviving against Vanderbilt, the Crimson Tide go to Columbia, MO, to take on the Tigers, who are currently undefeated on the season.

And it’s in a series that’s been very one-sided: 8 games in favor of the Crimson Tide, with Alabama having yet to score under 34 points and Missouri yet to score over 20 points. (The series as a whole is 8-2 Alabama, with the two Missouri wins coming in the 1968 Gator Bowl and a game in 1975.)

The most interesting matchups might be Ahmad Hardy and the rest Missouri’s rushing game (currently 3rd in the nation in rushing yards and rushing yards per game, averaging 292 ypg) against Alabama’s defense (giving up around 156 rushing yards per game), as well as Ty Simpson and Alabama’s passing offense (5th in passing yards per game) against a Missouri defense currently ranked 9th in the nation in passing yards per game and 1st or 2nd in the nation against the run (in past games this season against Jalon Daniels and LaNorris Snellers, Missouri gave up several deep passes early in the game, before completely clamping down and shutting down both QBs passing offenses in the 2nd half of each game.

Could (hopefully) be a good one.

Ugh…I guess I have to hope for a Bama win since it helps UT control its own destiny. Missouri has two possible losses on the remaining schedule (ATM, OU) but should be favored in the rest. So a loss here is important for crushing the Tigers CFP playoff hopes.

It might be better for Tennessee for Alabama to get both an actual SEC loss prior to the UT game as well as a second loss so that Tennessee can fully eliminate them from the CFP race by beating them next week, wouldn’t it?

Maybe, but I’m thinking if Bama has two losses, one to us, it’s unlikely they get in ahead of us. So. we are more likely to go as a 2-loss team if Bama wins today. But, CFP “strategery” is not my strong suit.

I agree with this! We just need to take care of business and blame ourselves if we don't take advantage of our opportunities. As for Bama, F" them!

If only we hadn’t snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
