Apparently the governor of Louisiana says the LSU AD isn't allowed to select the next head coach, a board will be selected to find a "winning head coach and we will put metrics on it" and "maybe Trump will pick" šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

you can't make this sh!tshow up 🤣🤣🤣😜

I know LSU is a good job, as they are the only power program in the state with lots of tradition and great high school players to recruit. They also seem to have a lot of money to spend on NIL and ex-coach buyouts. Just curious who their big money donors are. Anybody know?

He hired Mulkey and Johnson. Made good hires at Washington too. Treating him as incompetent is a little wild

Edit: also hired Buzz at aTm.

How does this mean TN is bad? Article has nothing to do with TN.

I can only hope Louisiana’s governor ruins LSU’s leadership and athletic department to the same extent Ron Desantis has ruined ours.

Well, that’s kinda what happened with the Currie/Davenport fiasco. The exception is some of the legislators became involved but it was all quiet behind the scenes. That’s also why Dipetro announced his retirement a year and a half out! Lol

I believe the OP was talking about our past AD malfunctions compared to what is going on at LSU now. BTW... we were still worse, IMO! At least their AD shoots for the stars and skips clean over the bargain bin where we frequently acquire coaches.

I'd love for trump to pick LSU's next coach.

That's kind of the vibe I'm getting as far as potential from his heavy handed approach. He should let the new president handle LSU's affairs and voice his concerns behind closed doors. Just amateur optics from someone that has more important issues to deal with on a state level.

" I propose the greatest , most amazing , probably in the history of the sport , man for the job of head coach at Louisiana State University , Jerry Arthur Sandusky . Jerry's had a lot of unfair and bad publicity and we're gonna make it right , while winning lots and lots of games.

It does seem like that's where this is headed. I believe the accurate story is that this dude hired coaches that won LSU 3 national titles. Maybe it's 4. That's a lot, but maybe not a lot by LSU standards.

Is Ron a Florida State fan?

Nah, he’s just incompetent, and our BoG are just puppets for him.

The financial mismanagement under our last president is well documented, and he didn’t have a clue about the new world of NIL, let alone Scott Stricklin’s incompetence.

UF has been a rudderless ship for the better part of three years.

Oil and Natural Gas money. They have some deeeeeeep pockets and not a lot to spend it on there.

If you don’t think LSU cares about baseball then you are oblivious. They spent over $15M on their team with Skenes on it. Basically bought a national championship.
And their percentage of revenue is far higher for women basketball than their baseball. They have a very local baseball fan base and successful program. No AD is losing their job over the baseball team. Same as here

I’m not talking about revenue. I’m talking about people caring about their sport. Let them go a few years between CWS appearances and see how well they take it. That fanbase cares more about baseball than any other in the country. More fans show up for baseball games than women’s basketball games. You said ā€œthe majority of LSU fans don’t GAF about those sports.ā€ Get your facts straight before you start spewing nonsensical opinions.
