Caught Tony Vitello on YouTube segment "Bussin' With the Boys", & he called N.I.L. a distaster...likening it to trying to drive a car in a thick fog. Excellent analysis i.m.o.

Chris Burke holds multiple all-time records at the University of Tennessee, including career hits (314), runs scored (224), singles (199), doubles (72), triples (17), total bases (498), and extra-base hits (115). During his time at UT from 1999 to 2001, Burke earned recognition as a three-time All-American and was named the 2001 SEC Player of the Year. Following his collegiate success, he enjoyed a six-year Major League Baseball career with the Houston Astros, Arizona Diamondbacks, and San Diego Padres. After his playing days, Burke was considered a strong candidate for the UT head coaching position following Raleigh’s departure but ultimately lost out to Dave Serrano.

R.A. Dickey remains the only player in Tennessee Baseball history to be named Baseball America’s Freshman of the Year, earning the honor in 1994. After finishing his college career in 1996, Dickey was selected by the Texas Rangers in that year’s MLB Draft and made his Major League debut with the Rangers in 2001.

Dickey’s MLB career spanned from 2001 to 2017, featuring stops with the Rangers, Mariners, Twins, Mets, Blue Jays, and Braves. His accomplishments include being named an All-Star (2012), winning the NL Cy Young Award (2012), earning a Gold Glove (2013), and leading the National League in strikeouts (2012).

He also represented Team USA in baseball at the 1996 Olympic Games and again in the 2013 World Baseball Classic.

UT’s first great baseball season was 1908, when it posted a 16-3 record in Moffett’s second stint as coach. There was no postseason, but the Vols finished the season on an eight-game winning streak.

It all started with a marathon performance by Solon Kipp, who pitched three games in two days for UT’s first series win over Vanderbilt in program history.

Todd Helton holds the single season Tennessee baseball record of consecutive scoreless innings pitched of 47.2 against 26 teams in 1994.

Helton, Todd « Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame
As a direct eye witness of that season.

Todd threw absolute junk stuff. I was always amazed no one could hit and he made lefties almost suicidal as I'm sure they were thinking the same thing.

I'm not sure he could get anything anywhere near 90. It was all change up and curve. Which makes me wonder "is it a change up if the pitcher never throws a fast ball?"

The opening game of the '95 College World Series, he started a rare game as Clemson was lefty heavy and think he was announced as the starter about 30 secs before the game. (Delmonico did that sort of thing). Todd pitched a complete game with 9 SOs. and 4 hits. I'm guessing Clemson was so sure they would be facing RA

Of course, Clemson was the King of Two-And-''Cue in Omaha.
