Tennessee has been the third most-watched college football team in the entire country this season!

I just realized we don’t play New Mexico State tomorrow. Another bye week. we probably will drop in viewership since we are pretty much out of the playoffs.

As a brand new Tennessee fan, it isn’t just the exciting offense that I enjoy watching, it is the stadium and noise of the fans that really is appealing on TV. The little pre game stadium activities that they show on TV doesn’t do justice , though, to actually being there. My first Vols game in person was this year’s Arkansas game.

Thats because we are an elite program. One of maybe 10 or 12 teams poised to make the playoffs and have a chance at a Title every 3 or 4 years at most. Thats a VERY short list...and a couple of Big10 teams have a very easy path to the playoffs where they can go 10-2 EVERY YEAR by simply beating all the UNRANKED teams on their schedules. Look up OSU, ORE, PSU, Mich for 26 and 27. They only play 2 teams that should be ranked and rarely play eachother. In the SEC where we were dumb enough to go to 9 SEC games per year...each member thats normally good has FIVE teams that should be ranked every year instead of two...and usually have 2 games at least vs top10 teams alone. Look at our schedules for the upcoming seasons for example...and this years. With UGA and Bama both top10s. Despite playing in a conference much harder than the Big10, we are still recruiting and winning at a level that will keep us in that elite group. Our 2026 class is ranked 8th and complete except for flips...AHEAD of both Ohio st and Michigan. Sadly being 8th is still only 5th best in the SEC where 5 of the top 8 recruiting classes are headed in 2026.

I always balk at posters who say "ESPN hates us" or "media gives us no respect." We get THE big games all the time. Sat nights, premier Sat afternoon games...and if they are smaller games it's SEC network. It goes for ALL sports. We get covered like crazy. So stop w this "ESPN hates us" nonsense.

I think the Joey Aguilar/Nico Iamaleava saga became the feel-good story of the season. People tuned in hoping to see a real Cinderella story. So many were rooting against Nico and rooting for Joey. I had a surprising number of friends who root for other teams tell me they were hoping Joey would do something special.

Neyland has the best visual effects in all of college football.
Even if you’re not necessarily a fan, it is an awesome sight.
