History is history. It usually repeats.

Let’s not repeat it this year. Odds not in our favor.

Tennessee as the ability to win this game handily. My issue is that when we get that early jump on our opponents we tend to take our foot off the gas. Then the other team Chet’s back into the game.

Add to that playing them in their house and the game could go against us.

If we start strong, we need to not ease up. Look at how South Carolina thought they had the game won at halftime yesterday as proof.

Agree i think the key is to get up by 2-3 scores and Florida will quit

No idea. This year's team has been virtually impossible to predict all season long, and I don't expect that to change this season. Talented enough to play with anyone, but the tendency to stub their toe with bad execution or play calls at exactly the worst time has been the difference between 7-3 and 9-1. Anyone who thinks they know what will happen is kidding themselves.

The only certain thing this week IMO is the same as always when playing a team that has had a lost season like Florida - start fast and get up a few scores early and they just might lay down, but let the crowd stay in it and this be a one score game going to the 4th quarter and it's a crapshoot probably favoring the home dog.

Do doubt Florida will score on this pitifull defense. Our offense has been on/0ff and unfortunately Joey seems to be reverting to old habits? Turn overs will be the tell tale . If Joey continues to throw interceptions Tennessee is done we will see!

I agree that turnovers can not be had by us

What makes me lean toward Florida winning a tight game is this team's tendency to make absolutely catastrophic mistakes at critical moments.

Hope I'm wrong, but I'm not optimistic about our chances down yonder.

I agree that we have to play better down there and can't have turnovers. DJ Lagway has been even more turnover prone than Joey, though. He actually has more Ints than TDs now.

Lagway was in the preseason Hypeman Trophy talk. In August he was added to the Davey O'Brien watch list. On Saturday he will play like he belongs on both, after he throws 3 touchdown passes, 300+ passing yards, no interceptions and runs for 50+ yards. In the end, Vols win on a 53 yard field goal as time expires!

Florida's team and Florida's fans are over the "shock" from the terrible season and Napier's firing. The team they have now went to Ole Miss and rang up 24 in the first half, and you don't go to Ole Miss and compete because you're not motivated. They'll be hungry - very hungry - to get something out of this season, and beating Tennessee will make for a great memory to punctuate a miserable year.

In short, Florida will be motivated. They'll come out swinging. What will Tennessee be motivated to do? I honestly have no idea. I don't think our guys don't want to compete, but I do wonder if they'll show up more hungry than Florida's team playing on their home turf. Add in Heupel's struggle with road games, and ... it just feels ... like a landmine waiting to be stepped on.

Of course, if Tennessee goes down there and dominates Florida, that'd have to go down as a moderately significant moment in the Heupel era, even with Florida's record.

If we can't win in the Swamp this year, who knows when we will again. In saying that, Heupel loses a road game every year he's got no business losing. I think the Fla game is this years version of that. Like they say, History usually repeats itself. Fla wins by 10. Hope I'm wrong, outside of Ala and GA, losing to Fla just absolutely pisses me off.

Our offense is sputtering at times while the oline is not holding onto blocks or Joey not seeing them field. FL has talent and can get to the QB.

FL QBs often have a Heisman performance vs. the Vols. NM State has over 300 yards yesterday -most in the air.

My issue is that the coaching puckers up in big games and players follow this example. Penalties, dropped passes, turnovers and busted plays. With few exceptions, that’s been our MO, especially this year. I don’t expect this to change for one game. Hell, that’s been our MO against UF for as long as I remember and I’m 56. Prove me wrong and I’ll gladly eat a heaping plate of crow.

They both have definitely been turnover prone. Think Lagway has 14 total( Int's and Fumbles) and Aguilar has 12 total. Think it will come down to which QB plays better and doesn't give it to the other team. It does make me nervous that JA has 5 turnovers our last 2 games and Lagway has 4.

Depends on which UF team shows up. They are talented, as talented as we are at least. If they show up with fight in them, they are WAY better than their record would indicate. The Swamp is one of the better home advantages in college football. I don't put a lot of stock in the history, the players don't care about that. If we show up and play our game, and they show up, I lean towards thinking we win a close one, but it really could go either way, and will be decided by a handful of plays. If they show up with fight in them and we don't play well, they could kick our azz, and the reverse is true too, if we show up and are on point and they are just going through the motions we could kick theirs. I wouldn't bet on it either way.

My opinion is you have too much faith in Max Gilbert.
