Ayres Hall is 140 ft tall and you can see it from the stadium. We need a massive flag pole on the Hill with a huge power T flag

We need a massive flag pole on the Hill. I’m talking the largest one we could make. The power T flag would be visible from the stadium and across campus. The tallest flagpole in the country is 400 ft tall. Let’s go for the record and put up a massive orange flag with the white power T. Would look incredible on the Hill and a super unique campus feature.

Can't do that due to zoning and FAA restrictions

I'll do you one better. Let's sell the flag space to companies for advertising. Power T? That's boring. That doesn't bring in the money. But a giant flag for Skyrizzy? "Control means everything on AND off the football field." Visible to everyone in the stadium every game. That's cash money right there.

Why stop at one? Put three or four up there and top off the pole with a coonskin hat.

Can’t do that, Dr. Danny has other plans because that would not make money🙄

Would definitely be the largest flag known to man in order to fit all those side effects on it.

This is one of the tackiest ideas I’ve ever heard. The University of Tennessee is, as the name would imply, a university first.

I had classes in Ayres.

Stepped in the building 6 or 7 times tops.
Did you graduate? Asking for a friend..

I was in school there in the '70s. Engineering and had a ton of math, so I was there (8 or more times). Here is something that I'm sure can't happen now. On the top floor (where classrooms are) there is a little door that looks like a closet. It was locked back then, but you could open it with a butter knife. There is a stairwell that goes up to a little hatch that opens on the top. On boring spring weekends, I'd sneak up there with my girlfriend and go on that roof and catch a few rays, bring a book and read, relax, study and take in the view. No hanky panky if you are wondering, just hanging out. One of my best memories of UT.

My kids went to UT as well and during a freshman orientation, I had time to kill and looked for that doorway. It's really got a good lock on it now, so don't bother.
