I love how people act like they’ve never seen this happen before and then start insulting and blaming people as if they’re entitled to something.Easy to post after the fact (and insult them anonymously) when we all know there would have been an epic meltdown if Heupel had not signed Boo. If he had left after last season the same would have happened.
Yeah, just a tiny difference between a LEO carrying a gun and a qb running shotgun. When I applied to be a deputy sheriff. I had to have physical and a psychological evaluation to make sure I had no mental issues that would not be detrimental to myself, the department or the public. Maybe these young men should be evaluated for the same reasons if they are not already having the evals done.
Wrong on Lavar. He pissed off some media folks but he definitely raised his boys into successful young men. The other two parents mentioned appear (allegedly) to have had a good situation already going and meddled their way into a mess that they couldn't get out of at some point. Lavar created the situation that his boys are in and the boys are already well paid and set up for their future in that situation..Boo's mom, Nico dad, Lavar Ball examples of helicopter parents ruining their kids while trying to live off of or thru them.
Agreed. Hindsight is 20/20 but im not surprised that Nico or Boo didnt work out. Nico came to UT strictly for money and Boo was a walking red flag. Both had undeniable talent so I dont blame the coaches for taking a chance. I think the program is getting to the point where we can use those resources on great talents that might not have as much baggage. It's getting harder with the
N.I.L., transfer portal, etc
Greed personal prestige & $$$ taking precedence over loyalty, teamwork, honesty.
Everybody gets bad ones. Our coaches actually do a really good job evaluating talent. Perry on the OL should be a star and almost nobody wanted him. I think we get "hits" more than "misses". You only hear about the problem starters and very little about the successful ones.Just saying, We do not need losers in Neyland. We produce winners. Somebody needs to do better recruiting homework, jeez!
