Tennessee not in the championship game

Playing Kansas is a fine consolation prize and I like the earlier time (Thanksgiving tomorrow-=busy busy)
Think Kansas beat Syracuse by 11 after they took Houston to the wire...OT IIRC. Suspect 'Cuse might have been worn down a bit after that battle. Wonder how much juice we'll have left after last night?

Speaking for myself, while beating Kansas would look great on the resume, I'm not all.that concerned about getting a win today. Just spread the minutes and get out of Vegas with no injuries. Beating Houston told me all I needed to know about this team.

Don't be "soft" ... No mercy. Someone could get injured walking to the bus...

Well, you won’t be spending the following day with your Kansas fan in-laws like I will, so pipe down, mister. Vols need to win big. For my sake.

Michigan looks like a final four team. I prefer Kansas, let our
youngsters keep progressing and developing chemistry.
Agree, it was/is a mythical champ anyway sans head to heads. We dealt with them over the years in each sport where you would have AP/UPI/USA/Coaches/Lichtenstein and several more. All mythical champs and some years they'd be as many as 5 teams claim a Championship. It was the best of times and it was the worst of times. 🤣

Seems like they didn’t think this tournament design through very well with no legit way to determine a championship. We’re getting the experience of playing 3 quality teams and revenge against Houston. Only regret in not making the “championship” game is the team doesn’t get a shot at the $2 million.

Win EVERY game. I do not subscribe to this mentality so I’m glad you are speaking for yourself

I imagine those Jayhawk in-laws are pretty opinionated. Of course, with that rich history, they deserve to be. I will always want the Vols to go for the jugular in any blue blood game.

A bogus championship but our path will help us more in the long run.

It's really a dumb tournament setup. You get rewarded for beating down weaker teams. I don't really care, but less money for our team is surely a disappointment for the players who fought hard. I've read differing explanations of the money distribution, but it looks like first place gets the most.

Michigan player post game said they wanted to play Vols and play that Ament kid who was being regarded as an NBA player who the the real NBA player were gonna be. ( paraphrased)

No sure I’ve seen that kind of call out of another opposition player in college many times. In a national interview. But then I have never associated “classy” as attributable to Michigan basketball in the first place.

Michigan looks really good. That being said, Auburn doesn't have our size in post. I'm so impressed w/ the size and depth we have down low this year. With guards to match, if we continue to keep our turnovers under control, we're going to be right in the mix. CRB just has the touch when it comes to personality profiles + skill level of players who mesh into his system. Interviews after the game show a team vibe that you can't manufacture.

Limit it to 16 teams and add a single game and they avoid this nonsense. Incredibly stupid format.

It is stupid if it’s emphasized as a tournament. But it’s more about creating matchups and the payouts are a gimmick. TV ratings as football winds down is what’s important to the event promoters.

Wait until next year when there are 32 teams. The 16 that begin in week two won’t be as rested as those starting in week 1.
