Alex Golesh to Arky

He's made a very fast ascent at only 41 years old. Somebody was going to hire him, and I wasn't entirely thrilled about the idea of him ending up at Florida or LSU if the chips fell that way. Arkansas isn't too different from those situations; not as big a brand, but there's resources to be found if the people out there buy into what he's doing.

Will be interesting - and possibly migraine-inducing - to see him and his version of the Briles offense come to town, or vice versa.

Probably a pretty good hire for Arkansas. I know this board really likes him so this is probably a hot take but I'm not sure it's a home run hire though. The job he did at USF was really good (I think people forget that they won 3 games total in the 2 seasons before he got there) but he's still pretty light on experience. Game to game, his offenses are not as consistent as you might think (especially last year).

He's going to a place that, for a long time, I think has had expectations that are out of whack with what I think they can consistently achieve. Definitely will be a big challenge.

Advice to Golesh: Fayetteville is dull but take up hiking or fishing, not motorcycle riding.
Remember when Vitello was hired he compared Knoxville and NWA pretty favorably to each other (Smokies vs. Ozarks) so hopefully it won’t be too different for him. His wife visits Arkansas every month to see family still.
