Well, this one was payback for the big upset over number one Kansas at TBA when Skyler McBee and Bob Maze played lights out. Three of our players were out over the gun incident in somebody's car if I remember correctly. Yet we pulled out a miracle.

Kansas undermanned w missing stars just willed themselves to victory in the last 15 minutes. Our defense collapsed and they just were mentally tougher. We should never have lost that one, especially up double digits in the 2nd ½. But, we couldn't throw it in the ocean after we hit 55pts. Kinda reminded me of some of our other teams in the past 10 years.

Oh well, good weekend overall. Let's go back and get better!

Swiper Boy Woolridge was the player that stepped up for that game (1/20/2010).

4 players were suspended. Melvin Goins. Cam Tatum. Brian Williams. Tyler Smith.

Tyler was dismissed from the team. Goins and Tatum were back playing later in January. Brian Williams was out until a few games into February.

The team had just beaten Memphis on New Year Eve and were pulled over by KPD on New Years Day in Knoxville. Speeding with reefers and a handgun with a filed off serial number in the car.

Skyler McBee: not great raw talent, but he was full of energy & played hard. My avatar is of Eric Roberts (Julia's brother) who played the creepy guy in the movie Star 80. Always thought Skyler Roberts resembled Roberts, so I's used this avatar for quite a while. Call me crazy.

Nice synopsis. I forgot about swiper boy hitting those threes and that one that banked in. Kansas had to have had the same feeling that I did last night from the 15 minute mark on. Pure hopelessness in the destiny.

Alright that clears that up, but I’ve always wondered is a feather sax a brass instrument?

I remember Bill Self saying after the game that his team wasn’t a team and Tennessee wasn’t until today. I assume he meant chemistry, sometimes addition by subtraction really works.

This is true sometimes. It is early in the year, but KU just rallied at a team for sure. It reminds me of what the great Julius Erving said about losing to the Lakers in 1980, without their injured center Kareem Abdul Jabaar. Magic played center and scored 42 to win the title as massive underdogs. Doc said, when this happens, all of a sudden your playing a team that you've never played before.
