Heard it through a friend who,
heard it through a friend who
Says Lane wanted to stay.

Well, that was looking at deals with LSU and Florida.

The Mara family has decided to be very aggressive, Many calls to Jimmy Sexton lately.

I ain't saying I know where this goes, but this would let him continue to guide Ole Miss on a championship run, while "moving on up!"

Heard it from a friend who,
heard it from a friend who,
heard it from another Lane's been shopping around.

Mine is more accurate plagiarism and more relevant.

If that happens, he won’t last two seasons. The NY media would rightfully destroy him. They’re already drooling at the prospect.

I would be good with that. It would be awesome to watch LSU and Florida scramble for the leftovers.
Who would LSU get at that point? I think the best you could do is the coach at ASU, Cigi, Dabo, Mullen or Jimbo?

Florida, sheesh, not even sure where they go. Coach O, Cigi, Matt Campbell? I'm sure they would try to go after Huepel

While I do like the idea of Lane screwing everybody and going to the Giants-it's not gonna happen.

NFL requires coaches (and players) to surrender their personality at the door. The slightest expression of personal thought or sense of humor is frowned upon

Lane knows this very well.

He is a college only animal.

Personally, I don't care what he does, or where he goes. Some see him as entertaining. I guess I get that. Then again, no I don't. Some see him as a good coach. I don't. I thought Ole Miss were fools when they hired him, and still do. I thought the Vols were fools when they hired him. I guess they think so too. Pretty sure of that.

Personally, I think he should be on a street corner, cleaning windshields for quarters. Look at his history. What has he done? I don't get it.

The NFL, unlike college, relishes being a multi billion dollar business. Team owners can have personalities and players can have some personality within limits but coaches and front office staff, like the commissioner, are pretty much soulless automatons.

I agree with most of your post, but that first line is off. CFB is already a multi billion $ business and is moving towards more.

In 20 years, the Kiffins of the world will not even exist in college. Loose cannons who are unpredictable. Verboten

Even Heupel with his weight and facial scruff will be a no go zone. You already see rumblings of it on this board

The move towards ultra TV friendly is already going

The Raiders? With a LIVE Al Davis? 🤨 His first HC job of any sort and with the brainchild of “Jamarcus is a great player…deal with it.” signing your paychecks…until he didn’t.

With what we know about Lane now-15 plus later, you really think Al was nuts?

He pretty much called out exactly what Kiff is and has always been in 2009.

The guy is not a bad coach, but all his garbage makes even having him around a cancer

Jonathan Crompton had what I think my is the most wild prediction for Lame. He said Deboer is going to PSU and Lame goes to Bama.

I think he’s a helluva tactical coach. Winning doesn’t just happen. A process is involved. Spurrier was a troll also. History is kind to his legacy.

And YES…Al was NUTS.

The way Spurrier abandoned South Carolina, I'm kind of surprised his legacy doesn't get more heat for that.

Lane wants to be Spurrier so bad and while he may have the technical ability-he lacks the tact or charm. Spurrier could make fun of you in that JC accent with his voice going all over the place up and down and you would still laugh about it.

Lane just makes you angry

Bit of a difference there.

I agree but the NFL has better control over operations and coaches than the NCAA, of course, including rules to avoid a narcissist like Kiffin from being contacted by other teams without permission.

College is a big business without good leadership which is why it's chaotic and likely unsustainable.
