Who actually plays in the bowl game?

Who will sit out the bowl game? Brazzel? Anybody from Illinois that is good sitting out?

I heard that after all the opt outs, they are bringing in Jim Bob Cooter to play QB. Rod Wilks, unfortunately is out of eligibility.

On Josh and Swain, they were discussing this topic with Austin Price and speculated that Brazzell, Heard, Josephs, Hood, and McMurray were names to watch for sitting out. They were not stating that those players definitely would or wouldn't, but that they were the most probable candidates for passing on the bowl game. There could always be others, as well.

And this is why fans are opting out of bowl games. Bowl games may become extinct. This is also why UGA trounced FSU a couple years ago and fans bragged about it. FSU lost half their team to sitting out and transfers. It's just becoming meaningless. If it is meaningless to the players, it will trickle down in lack of enthusiasm with the fan base. Ho Hum, insert yawn.

College football as us old timers know it, is rapidly going away. This is becoming worse than the NFL.

When a game any type game becomes meaningless to a healthy player, then that player should quit playing the sport. Players have always played "extra games" if it was a game that could help their career. I would say playing a bowl game would be a plus for their career, if for no other reason than to show loyalty to a program (or for pro teams, suspect loyalty that is an example of a self interest trait).

Seems like NIL and revenue sharing contracts could be structured with a deferred portion paid at season's end provided the player made himself available for all games. Don't play in the bowl game, lose a check.

The game is not nearly as important as all the extra practices the teams get. I love to win the games but the extras help the younger players.
