Tennessee defensive legend John Henderson was formally inducted into the National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame as a member of the 2025 class Tuesday night at Bellagio Hotel & Casino. Henderson, a Nashville native, was one of 18 first-team All-America players and four standout coaches who were enshrined. He spent the day with former teammates, coaches and met with other Hall of Famers, including several he played against.

"Today was the day it really set in," he said. "Seeing Coach (Fulmer), Al (Wilson) and just reminiscing over how it all began, that 1998 squad really gave me all the tools to be who I am today. I love the game of football but playing it with my teammates was everything. Everything I learned in football, I bring to life."

Congratulations, Big John! I recall seening him play middle school basketball in Nashville against my son's team (physically, he was a "man" at age 12). He & Albert Means anchored an awesome defensive line.

Man, Fulmer could recruit back in the day.
Dan Brooks was responsible for Tennessee's defensive line success. Best defensive line coach I have ever seen. When he went to Clemson, he had championship defensive lines there as well. When he retired, Clemson fell off the map up front on defense
