This 💩 is absolutely ridiculous.
What the heck happened to the college football and basketball, I once knew and loved?
What are we even doing?
Well, unfortunately, college athletics was predicated on a monopolistic system which allowed the universities to exploit workers in exchange for exorbitant amounts of $$$ for decades...it wasn't realistic to expect this to end well. In an ideal world, the supposed non-profit institutions of higher learning would show at least some remorse for their historic criminal enterprise and, instead, actually serve the public interest as intended (i.e., help young adults mature and grow by developing knowledge, skills & experience) versus doing anything and everything in their power to keep the $$$ flowing which only prolongs the chaos during this transitory period.

Much more eloquent way of saying “complete bullsh!t”
😝

So he is going to (at least try to) make more money by going back to school for 1 year rather than continuing to play professional basketball overseas. Interesting... I would think a good player from D league could make pretty good money by playing overseas. Looks like college money is too good to pass on.

Tennessee isn’t interested
Because? Bad fit? Red flags? All shooter and no defense?....okay, the last bit about shooter/defense was a cheap dig at Barnes, but it's early and I just got off a long road trip so I'm chippy this morning. Another cup of joe and I'll be back to my old Mr. Positive self.

I know nothing about him, but bringing on someone new for a semester rental wouldn’t set well with all our depth that have been forming a team together for months now. Would have to be a team with injuries or a glaring weakness to take a flyer on that. JMO

Nobody stopped the big money train when the conferences and tv networks turned college football and basketball into billion dollar industries, and nobody stopped it when coaches became royalty with gigantic salaries and buyouts.

It's crazy but it's like we're mad at the cancer while we watched college sports smoke 5 packs a day for decades.
