Illini fans will even razz their own fans. My wife and I took her parents to the Liberty Bowl in 1994 to watch Illinois play East Carolina. Some drunk Illini fans was giving some ECU fans near us a hard time until they moved. Then one of them started in on my father-in-law, just because he was wearing his SIU jacket. When that doofus saw my father-in-law's Illini cap, he drunkenly apologized and went to get another beer.

There was absolutely no way I would spend money to watch this team play in the Music City Bowl. By the look of the crowd, most folks had the same thought.
