Dumbest criticism of Heupel playing out in real time

I wouldn’t call it dumb because he had not shown a willingness to do it. It is great he appears to be giving his D Coordinator full control and we are seeing huge upgrades in the coaches coming on. I firmly believe he needs a real offensive coordinator and he needs to stay out of calling plays. I think this would allow him to be a better head coach as he could focus more on other areas that might need more of his attention.

I’m inclined to say that the conversation happened with Heupel from the money. Things needed to be done, either get it done or….! You get the point

There’s a difference between willingness and desperation. Firing Banks at this point is like the people who join the gym after the diabetes diagnosis. But definitely better late than never.
Silly comparison. It's nothing like that. He couldn't fire Banks after last season. Desperation would have been to hold on to him and then fire him next season after two games when GT rolled up 600 yards against us

Who said anything about last year? I would have personally fired him after the Missouri game in 23.

I don't think it's heat. I think as a former player he is ultra competitive and absolutely hates losing. IMO his seat is as cool as the other side of the pillow.
Why has he never done this before if that's the case? You are extremely mistaken about his job security. It is warm in 2026, and it will be scorching in 2027.
