So, we are getting not one but both DC’s from Penn St. Hope the magic from Ohio State comes and not Penn State’s. They actually lost more than we did this past season and, were supposed to compete for a NC.

From text this morning, Matt Guerrieri was 1st choice, but was always gonna be an uphill battle to have him leave OSU for lateral move, even though UT was willing to pay more and give him added title of Co-DC. As it stands he has pass game coordinator title at OSU and will be in line for pay raise.

A couple things about Poindexter, of all the existing PSU coaches, him & Knowles had best relationship on & offer field. He said one of the things that impressed Knowles was recent conversation they had and a couple of recommendations Poindexter had on implementing system quicker & simplified way for players based on their PSU experience. He also mentioned how huge it was to have some coaches already on smae page as Jim and that one year will make a big difference especially as safety play is crucial in Knowles system. Last thing as bringing in some of the PSU staff will o crease likelihood of landing a couple transfers. They fully expect AJ Harris & Elijah Washington will end up at UT, and depending on NIL UT is willing to pay, Chaz Coleman is in play

Chaz Coleman would be a huge get if they can keep him away from tOSU. The LEOs were very disappointing in the bowl game. Herring flashed in the OU game but never built on that.

Sounds very promising… looking forward to 2026 season.

Based on what he said, Coleman will visit OSU today or tomorrow, if he doesn't committ on visit, UT expects to get him on campus. Other threats are VT, South Carolina, and Michigan State

If the new coaches can coach turning around and not face guarding, how to properly tackle and teach actually trying to properly tackle then this is a massive upgrade.

Now just use the portal to go get several bigger, stronger, faster players.

Maybe a Geometry class or 2 so they can learn attack angles and outside leverage.

Normally it takes a couple of years for complex systems to be understood. The why and how, takes time. 2 years is 1 year more than today's fan can take.

I am not expecting a top 20 defense next year, however, I think that just a decent defense can get the job done as long as it is paired with a good offense.

We’ll add a couple of assistants from Penn State, one from Ohio State, all have familiarity with Knowles's system.

I’m not understanding the point you’re trying to make if you have one. Maybe just say what your concern is.

The goal is to win championships - what ones has PSU won lately?

I know everyone seems happy with the Defensive staff additions but he runs a system that takes time to fully understand... if next year isn't great the same people will be calling for Heupels head..I mean you already have some that wants him fired now🙄
