I'm not going to list them all, but needed somewhere to put this comment to maybe spark more discussion about what specific aspects anyone has noted in current Lady Vol players that you think make them potentially interesting to pro scouts.

For instance:

I believe Alyssa Latham's development of an instinct to make regular, strong cuts to the basket is a skill that will get her noticed by scouts. Bonus look-see points to her for the fact that her cuts stand out in LV games because (unfortunately) that's not something anyone else besides Lauren Hurst -- who doesn't play much -- ever does. After the Florida game she mentioned telling some teammate that they could do it too.

Hopefully our staff will start teaching that. They can go watch old van DerVeer-coached Stanford and/or CT games if they need to see how teams do that AS a whole team if they need to.

Who's got next?

With this team that to me is where success will be found. Gives you the best opportunity to score in two ways by making the basket or getting fouled. Latham just became right before our eyes a breakout player that we are going to see a lot of the rest of this season. Her play and Spearman really give us a strong duo for offensive rebounding and scoring inside. You put Barker at the three Cooper at the two and Pauldo at the point and this looks like our strongest team even if it is not our best pressing five.

I’m going to add that Mia Pauldo’s dedication to putting in the extra time and effort to become a dependable free throw shooter is definitely something WNBA scouts and GMs prize. I love that she’s our go-to for technical shots and she’s a freshman. If she continues on this track and gets a national reputation as a free throw ace, she’ll be a prize on draft day.
