This is the kind that gets me. We develop a 5 star for two years until they are ready to make a big impact and then lose them to the port hole.
Do you want him wait on the bench? He has a new DC that may change whatever role he was set to play. We (majority of vols fans) wanted a new DC. This is the fallout from that.

Whata F'ing Disaster... Tennessee Football is perhaps the worst team in the nation at Roster Management in today's Football landscape:

2026
Losses ~25
Adds 2
-----------------
Roster Change - (-23)

2025
Losses ~20
Adds 7
-----------------
Roster Change - (-13)

But Wait, we do have a bunch of 18 year old kids coming in!

Not even sure why we recruit more than a few HS kids any more. Just seems like a waste of money to pay a guy for two years to sit on the bench or occasionally play, only for them to transfer out. Save that money and spent it on veterans.
You've got to recruit HS kids for foundation and culture. You can't build culture with transfers. Transfers are meant to fill big needs, because those should be developed experienced players that can contribute.
The best way to handle this is not get attached to kids. Just imagine that they're faceless and nameless. The Power T never changes, but the players do. Some will be VFLs and some will be impacful players that we may remember.
