A lot of people on this board seem to be much concerned about him being skinny. I presume CJH looked at him before he signed him.MacIntyre had offers from from the following CFP teams: UGA, Bama, Ole Miss, the U, Oregon, and Indiana. All four of the Final Four teams. He also had offers from Clemson, FSU, LSU, Auburn, Michigan, and Notre Dame. Dude has potential, I don't know why so many people are eager to get a player from the portal to replace him.
Yeah, he made some bad throws but also some big throws too. I think what was nice about Aguilar is that he allowed Heupel to run the offense as it's intended and not pared down like he had to for Nico. I don't necessarily want Joey back though. Time to move onI want Macintyre and if it's not Macintyre then I want Brandon and if it's not Brandon then whatever, what does it matter at that point?
Oh - and I will add - I know some folks are super into getting Aguilar back, but I don't think you'll do any better with him next year than you did this year. He's good - and I have zero complaints about him being the guy this year - but those underthrows and late throws will continue to be intercepted by defenses. He made them all year; the early teams just didn't quite have the talent to punish them. Remember that one really REALLY late deep ball he floated in the ETSU game? Matthews just beat the ETSU guy for it - which he should have - but the announcers even said "you don't throw that." Point is, those throws were there all year. People just didn't want to see them. And he is good, but those throws will cost you possession and games. If you don't have the defense to overcome those turnovers, then ... well ...
