George imo would beat him out.
Hard to say this far out, but definitely think it would be a battle. GMac would have the advantage of having been here for a full year to learn the system. Pribula is a good athlete, but what hes done so far doesnt scream he would automatically get the job for sure.

If he is the next starting QB then i say we get behind him and hope coach can do his magic. At least the guy has SEC experience and he can run.
To me AT WORST he’s a guy with SEC experience who could help out George and Faizon

Obviously, if it’s him, you gotta hope Heupel can unlock him like he did with Hooker

I don’t think he’s coming, but I there are a few FCS and G5 guys I think Heupel would do wonders with in this offense. We see guys come from that level in a regular basis and thrive at p4 programs. Not sure why fans are mocking LSU for getting a guy from Elon. Cam Ward came from Incarnate Ward. I really would like to see is identity a guy from a smaller school and bring him in and if GMac beats him out, that’s great. Would be awesome boost if confidence for him. From what I hear, GMac’s issue isnt talent , it’s his inability to add weight which is out of his control. Maybe the new strength coach can help.

I think he can be at least as good as Nico was in 2024. He wasn't terrible for Mizzu and our offense is much more friendly to QBs. Not my first choice. Or even my 3rd. But there are worse options.

I'd rather go all in on defensive players than pay a QB $6.5 million anyway. Look at what Heupel was able to do with Joe and Nico. Pribula can certainly put up similar numbers, he just needs to take care of the ball.

Missouri QB Beau Pribula: In 10 games with Missouri, Pribula threw for 1,914 yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions while completing 67 percent of his passes. He also ran for 297 yards and six scores. The quarterback was sidelined for two games with a left ankle injury. Prior to arriving at Missouri, Pribula was at Penn State.

Pribula spent his first two seasons at Penn State, backing up Drew Allar. In two years with the Nittany Lions, Pribula played in 24 games and threw for 424 yards with nine touchdowns, one interception and rushed for 571 yards and 10 touchdowns. He’ll have one year of eligibility remaining.

The Skinny: He went to Virginia on Sunday as Tennessee looks to get resolution on Joey Aguilar and Sam Leavitt.

Im with ya, I dont think hes as bad as ppl are saying and i dont think he’s necessarily that good either

One thing he has that you cant teach is crazy speed for a QB so i will give him that.

I am on board with this! This dude can play! Sign him up

I'm not saying he's gonna be all-sec.... but I am questioning why everyone has such disdain for him. I think he has potential. Mizzous offense was a three man head - a good TE, and better than average receiver, and an elite RB. He'd have a ton more weapons in Knoxville. And I love his run ability.

Plus I just go back to how well Aguilar looked here. Pribula has more matural talent than JA.

Yea to me he does resemble Hooker before he got to TN...maybe it would work

We missed having a true running threat at QB. It’s a big reason Joey seemed to have regressed as the season went on as teams didn’t fear his legs at all and dropped more. We need a true dual threat to be lethal. What Pribula lacks in throwing he makes up for in athleticism and ability to run. With our weapons, forcing a team to spy or bring up a safety will open everything up. I’d rather take Pribula and save $3 million to beef up the defense. We could have a top 15 defense with all the talent we are looking at and we’re always going to find ways to score with Heupel.

I mean, Bryce Underwood did pretty well for Michigan this year as a talented frosh. I wouldn't rule Faizon out either, at this point. Best guy plays.
I don't think Underwood missed the majority of his senior year, which is likely what's working against the idea of Faizon starting from the jump. Maybe he comes in this month and just lights the world on fire, though.

i agree

hell Diego Pavia is not exactly a Drew Brees type passer back there but the scheme + ability to run and improvise just adds a diff element. Its also part of why all his guys just run free constantly. Pribula prob runs high 4.5s too.

I agree with this. As long as his decision making is sound, a running QB really helps our offense, especially in 3rd down situations.
