I don’t know how smaller schools like that keep anybody. Here locally, the Mercer QB won the Jerry Rice Award and 6 weeks later he signed with Oregon State.

Football will be emphasized at some schools (with large/med NIL budgets) and deemphasized at others (small to no NIL). The large schools will become the feeder schools for the NFL. Seldom will you see a B Favre (from So Miss) or Ben Roethlisberger (from Miami of Ohio) as players like these will have likely been "poached" by large NIL budgeted schools prior to graduating from those "small" schools.

The current system is just not sustainable for the low tier G5, imo. Programs like Coastal will most likely be glorified feeder teams for the P5 in a few years. They lack the money and resources to keep up with even top tier G5s like Boise State, and even Boise State has a fraction of the resources the majority of the P5 has.
