Actually, that's a good landing spot for him.

Writing was on the wall here. The fact that he's going to a I-A program (somewhere between low-level P4 / high-level G5) means he's still in demand.

The fact that Merk was the official backup in 2025 likely has more to do with redshirting G-Mac.

I think so and that might have been part of the reason we liked getting Merk.
