How Much More Money Danny?

This is a tiresome narrative that keeps getting thrown around a lot but I’ll go along with it…

You’re not going to find an AD whose job is to NOT make money.

As long as the fans keep filling the seats, money will keep flowing through.

With or without DW…

How many more of my dollars will you take for another subpar, underperforming product? ROI is nonexistent here. Please take more of my money though, please.

-Still stuck in a parking garage I was never stuck in this long before DW got here.
I do like that we have folks complaining about us losing to Kentucky because "they're bad" and thinking that throwing money at the problem is going to fix it. If "just spend more money" was the solution to basketball struggles, Kentucky wouldn't have any losses.

The second half of this game was indicative of problems with this team, but not indicative of systemic problems with the AD. And you have to consider the possibility that Kentucky is very much the team they've shown themselves to be, twice this week: an embarrassment in the first half and unstoppable in the second.

It's definitely Danny's fault that the team threw that turnover pass

Weird weird take.

Was he supposed to shake things up coming off one of, if not the most successful year of college sports for Tennessee since the late 1990s?

Maybe clean out Barnes after the elite 8? Fire Heupel off the playoff appearance? Can Tony V after the World Series?
Whether you agree with it or not, there’s a huge divide between this administration and the fans. It all started with Tony V. And we all know the truth. If things keep going this way people will stop paying for those over priced tickets. DW only had a hand in 1/3 of those accomplishments you mentioned. But just as he really didn’t have that much to do with the success, he doesn’t have that much to do with our current state. People are just pissed paying for a talent fee when you're little brother down the road is better than you at everything, and they didn’t need a talent fee (and still don’t have one btw) to do it

He has let Vandy be better than us at every major sport
It used to be that Vandy's athletics took a back door so that the academic accomplishments could bolster the reputation of the wealthy folks who paid for their degrees. These days the wealthy don't care much about being seen as brilliant, so they'll spend their money on bragging rights.

They were better in football this past season.

It's easy. Don't pay it

I'm just asking the question - how did the AD allow this to happen? Exactly what is White supposed to do but put people in charge and trust them to do their jobs? Should he have fired Heupel? Is he picking the players and designing the schemes? Serious questions.

Listen, I share the disgust with the direction that big time college sports is going, but the AD's job besides picking competent people to coach the teams is to raise revenue wherever he sees a chance to do it, and by that measure White has been a slam dunk success. Your issue isn't with White, but the entire system.

Danny’s says that the troughs can come back but you have a 12 sec timer
Each additional sec will cost you $3

This really is the rub. I don’t currently have football tickets, but my family discontinued them after the 2016 season. I’d have bball season tickets if we lived close enough.

The reason we canceled is the price just wasn’t justified by the product on the field over the last decade. Unfortunately, with elevated prices, people are gonna reach this conclusion quicker than we did. Danny White has done worlds of good for us, but he has yet to put a championship level team together (he didn’t hire TV or RB) and he keeps demanding championship level prices. He also keeps whining to the media about other teams paying outside of current, non-existent rule structure for football players.

He can’t do all this and ask fans to pay absorbent prices without putting a championship level football product on the field. It’s becoming increasingly possible that the same will be said for basketball soon. Everything he’s doing works well if we are competing for championships. We’re not doing that in any sport this season, other than maybe baseball - which doesn’t pay the bills and get a majority of the fanbase excited.

Cry me a river. It’s this simple if you don’t like what’s going on stop donating. Stop spending money on TN.

The issue with Danny white is he is socially autistic and horrific at PR. When we lose our World Series winning coach the last thing fans want to hear about is how much money he’s made. He is really good at the fundraising part of the job but his social relation skills leave a lot to be desired.
