Tennessee has landed another defensive back in the transfer as Colorado defensive Isaiah Hardge committed to the Vols on Sunday.

“After the visit, I’m feeling really good. I’m really excited to be a Vol. So we are going to make that next step to be a Vol,” Hardge said.

Hardge played three seasons at Colorado, redshirting in 2023 as a true freshman after playing in three games. In total, the cornerback logged 23 games with one start and combined for 20 tackles, one tackle for loss and one fumble recovery. He took part in 97 defensive snaps in 2025 and 16 snaps in 2024. The cornerback stands in at 5-foot-10, 170 pounds and is a former three-star prospect out of Hollywood, Fla.

Hard knows cornerback Colton Hood who showcased his stock and upped his stock to where he’s mocked as first round pick.

“I knew Colton very well after he left Auburn we have been very tight,” Hardge said. “After seeing him come to Tennessee and he spoke very well of the program. I wanted to become a part of the program and a new opportunity with them to show my talents.”

It wasn’t just his relationship with Hood that was the key, it was the feeling he got in quick trip to Rocky Top.

“I feel like it’s a new home fore me. They know what they are talking about.I feel like this will be a new opportunity for me to show case my talent and become a better man.

“Just a lot of experience in the room with the coaches like coach (Jim) Knowles and coach (Michael) Hunter. Coaches who have been where I want to go. That’s my dream and goal is to make it to the league. There no better opportunity to do that than to come here.”

Hardge said the coaching staff sees him making an impact in two areas.

“Talking to coach Knowles and coach Hunter they see me in the nickel flex role as a corner, with special teams involved as well with coach Crabtree,” Hardge offered.

Hardge and his family visited UConn before the trip to Tennessee and Hardge acknowledged having his family be an extra set of eyes for him in a quick trip was important.

“It was good. I’m blessed to have a family come with me to have the same experience that I had. They fell in love with it and understand where the coaches are coming from,” Hardge said.

Could this be another one that we get the better end of a trade? Welcome Isaiah. (Coaches: stop bringing in players i that have to learn how to spell their names. It's very taxing and the guys here make fun of me when I get it wrong. )

Apparently staff likes him a lot…
GUESSING His is among the guys we evaluated as having the physical skills even if not given chance to demonstrate them.

Hoping we have a few DT guys like this we can get at a bargain now, or maybe as grad transfers (I think they still get free run) end of session. Even at a small premium if necessary. May need to take multiple for a yield process.
