UT hires Indiana’s Derek Owings as its new S&C coach

Why would we hire a strength and conditioning coach who relies on graduate transfers? Asking because: Is it a great hire or are we making a mistake of hiring anyone associated with Cignetti?

I don’t keep up with Indiana that closely. What is the secret behind their success and which coaches just happened to be there?

Based on what I saw in the game last night or Indiana's body of work. Appears to be a homerun hire. Didn't see any injuries and team looked fresh for all 60 minutes!

Gbo!

Just came to say the same thing......thought they looked great the whole game. RBs trucking people, WRs blocking with power (Jakobe got run over on a sweep), D-line was in the backfield all night. Great hire in my humble opinion based on pure optics.

I like the hire a lot. But as I have said over and over, it still all starts with Huepel. HE sets the tone for what this team will be. This guy will simply develop whatever physical/mental attributes Huepel wants in his players. Unless Huepel has really looked in the mirror and had a change in attitude, it wont matter.
