Chattanooga Hosts Spanish National Football (Soccer) Team

Apparently the Spaniards will be using Chatty as their home base during the World Cup. Training at Baylor's facilities. Pretty sweet to have a bunch of world class athletes using your facilities when you're a high school. Must be top notch.

Auckland FC used the facilities last summer during the club world cup. My son plays soccer at Baylor. The facilities are great, field is amazing. Coach told the team there will be athletes with 1.7 billion dollars in contracts practicing on their fields this summer. The are bringing their own security. Baylor will be on lockdown for several weeks. Part of the agreement bought new LED lights for 2 fields, a new turf field for JV and other upgrades. The tradeoff is the soccer team cannot use their grass field this spring except for the home region games, all other will be on the turf to keep the grass as perfect as possible for June practice. Chattanooga will have some of the highest paid athletes in the world and they could walk down any street and no one here would know who they are.
