JMO and some projection:

With his defense, he makes key stops, steals and turnovers.

Key hustle baskets almost every game.

He is the coach on the floor. The other players respect him and his leadership

Finally, it’s his year over year improvement. If he improves as much next year, as he has done this year, he will be All SEC.

He has become my favorite player on the team this year.

He is good at rebounding missed threes as well. He is a smaller version of Mashack on defense, but a better offensive player. Seems to be clutch like a Mashack too.
Not picking on you because I've seen that comparison a couple times now, so I suspect there is perhaps some Mandela effect at play, but Boswell and Mashack are nearly identical in size. UT lists both at 6'-4 and FWIW, ESPN lists Boswell as an inch taller and seven pounds heavier than Mashack.

I think his game is a little more comparable to Josiah Jordan James than Mashack, even though he plays Mashack’s position. But yes, I see similarities from both.

They look and play absolutely nothing alike.

I suspect it is the defensive aspect of their games that draw the similarities. Boswell is a bit more assertive on offense, but both are pretty uneven on that end of the floor. Both are effective, though hesitant 3-pt shooters.

Boswell seems a bit more willing to take the pull-up 15 footer. Mashack had that in his bag too, but the only time I remember doing it was the year ZZ got hurt and he had to take on a lot more offensive load. I was always surprised he never did more of that later in his career. Consummate team guy I guess

Happy to see him take advantage of his increased minutes this season. Guy is all over the court hustling and making plays, even if they don’t show up in the stat book. He’s the kind of player Barnes loves to coach. He seems like a really good dude too. Every home game I’ve been to with my son the last couple years he comes out after the games and spends time talking to and signing stuff for the fans. That means a lot to the kids that look up to them.
