Levi Clark is my breakout star this year. Also, Ford seems like a really good teammate. He's been very vocal talking up his guys during scrimmages. I don't know that he'll give Stone or Reese a run for their money, but I love that he's jumped right in. I'm liking the team chemistry so far this year.

Yes, it’s almost criminal to leave out Clark or Abernathy or Newstrom or Marin or Kuhns. I think the Sophomores will take huge jumps this year. The draft eligible trio will be really interesting to watch (Marin, Newstrom, and Kuhns). I’m thankful we get Clark and Abernathy for their Junior years.

PS I think Clark will hit the longest HR (and a bunch of them) and will have a stellar year at 1B and occasionally behind the plate. He’s ridiculously talented.

Levi Clark has been impressive since his debut with Tennessee. Look for him to continue the excellence of play at 1st base for the BaseVols. Will he still be wearing #30?

According to the updated roster on utsports.com, Clark will be wearing #16 this season and #30 will be worn by Trent Grindlinger.

I’m am not at all dinging the player (and all of you by now probably know of my deep love of Tennessee baseball), but with the free wheeling portal and NIL, things have changed in summer ball. Some schools have quit sending out their really good players because the school is afraid they’re going to get scouted and picked off by another school; I’ve seen it firsthand. The number of college coaches we have at games in the past few summers has grown rapidly.

If you have a chance, look at this article from out in Arizona that goes in a greater detail about the Cape.

Very interesting article. I took Myatt's remarks as just very complimentary of our pitching staff. I hadn't thought about the Cape pitching being sub-par.

How good is our pitching staff? They have been very efficient so far but hard to judge based on the competition.

Given their first few games, Kent will be a decent test this weekend.

I’m not good enough to judge. Kent State scored seven runs against LSU in one game, but I don’t know anything about who LSU threw that game. Kent State is tied for tops in the nation with 10 home runs thus far.
