I mean, they're not wrong -- Tennessee logos are ELITE

The Vol Star is 1000% my favorite. Retro in all the right ways. I love it on hats, I love it on shirts, I love it on flags.

The Davy Crockett is fine to me - the hands are where they are because they're negative spaces and they can't really go anywhere else without adding more business to the overall logo (at least, that's what it looks like from the design era and concept). It is a product of its era, and that's a big part of its charm.

The Power T is the Power T. It works well. It's clean and it works well. The OLD 1997 Power T was better though. More in your face, blockier, heavier, bolder. The new one is thinner and lighter. Feels less interesting. Less iconic. And I just prefer the old one. Probably because Tennessee was kicking ass while it used the old one, but.

The Smokey logo is just not good. It's never been good. The dog itself is a bundle of trouble, the TENNESSEE placement inside the VOLS is cute for cuteness sake but doesn't help, and the VOLS letters themselves are just ... they're bad. The overweighted V, the italicized font ... it's a bad font treatment that won't work well with a lot of things. Orange inside white INSIDE black, but with white linework inside the orange and it's all low contrast. It's hard to look at and hard to feel good about. That entire brand pass was something else. I never have and never will want to own anything with that logo or the dog. And I don't think I'm the only one. I'd love to know just how it made it through the approval process.

It’s as if you want to be sure no one who has sex with you feels good afterwards…
