You can't enter the SEC season with 1 skinny red shirt freshman QB and if he gets hurt you trot out an untested newbie. Huepel needs to have them both ready and both will should see action early.

Based on previous seasons, Heupel chooses a QB and roles with them almost exclusively except in blowout wins.

Since we have 2 cupcakes and GA Tech then the SEC gauntlet, if we don't see QB2 in Sept we probably won't see much of them all year.

Other than Furman and Kennesaw State, snaps for the backup will be practically non existent if Heupel holds to his usual form.

I suspect whoever JH thinks can run the offense; first, best ball security, second, grasp of offense, third, talent. I think GMac will have an advantage in all of these, but if our Frosh is the real deal, then that will ultimately show out. From what I can tell in limited showings, GMac seems intelligent/grasp of offense and seems to have a lively and accurate arm. If Faizon has all of these things too, then the intangibles of having an edge in being more mobile will obviously be an advantage. No commentary to provide on unknown quality of our transfer portal qb.

All of this being said, I don't know that JH will trust first year inexperienced QB to fully get the reins...at least early on, so, I think our ability to rush the ball and play MUCH better defense will be the top driver to a successful season this year.

You forget where we were when he got here. And we've only one one national championship in 1998 due to the Payton Manning recruiting bump.

Either earn it or not. Nothing is deserved just because you waited.
Best QB needs to start even if that means starting Brandon or Staub.
It's about wins, not feels

I have no clue what you’re trying to convey. Tennessee had won 30 games in the three years before MacIntyre arrived on campus.
