He threw a wobbly ball and was basically a statue in the pocket, but he just knew how to play the position. Throwing flat footed and converting 4th and 19 on the road in OT against Alabama is about the most clutch thing I’ve ever seen.

People forget how well he played against LSU in the ’01 SEC title game. Obviously, it gets overshadowed by the Stephens and Stallworth fumbles that cost Tennessee the game.

I remember after the gameone of the Michigan players was asked when they realized it was going to be a long day.

When their 265 pound TE outran our secondary to the goalline he responded/

Casey was an absolute warrior. He put it all on the line every game. Love the guy back in the day.

Clausen lost exactly ONE road game in his entire career at UT. ONE!

Peyton stayed for his Senior year & became an all-time legend.
Tee Martin won a natty, and had 2 great years.

However, Casey Clausen may be my favorite QB of all time at UT.
He was as tough as a $2 steak, I saw him bounce up from hits that would put most other players out for the game if not the entire season.
Career 14-1 ON THE ROAD.
Elephant killer.
Gator Killer.
Wolverine Killer.
His passes may not have been the prettiest at times, but he flat out won.

That was a touchdown and I don't give a good damn to hear otherwise.

The absolute heart of a warrior. I would take him anytime. He wouldn't win pretty every game but he would win. And he would fight. Something we don't get to see from many players in today's game.

Yea, I was there. The only orange jersey right in the middle of a sea of crimson. Bama fans thought they had the game won on multiple occasions........had many pats on the back with condolences and "drive home safely." Very satisfying victory.

That was his brother Rick who had a crazy game throwing short routes and draw plays, lsu played deep the whole game, setting the blueprint for other teams he didn't have an arm.
