NOTABLE

Dominant Pitching Leads the Way in Arlington
Tennessee road its dominant pitching in both of its victories at the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series last weekend, holding Arizona State to three runs and Virginia Tech to just one run on three hits.

The Vols' weekend rotation of Tegan Kuhns, Landon Mack and Evan Blanco combined to strike out 21 batters, led by a career-high 10 from Kuhns on Friday against No. 1 UCLA. Cam Appenzeller and Brayden Krenzel also picked up their first career saves over the weekend after posting a pair of scoreless multi-inning relief appearances against the Sun Devils and Hokies.

Overall, UT's pitching staff racked up 30 strikeouts and held opposing hitters to a .237 average during its three games in Arlington.

Vols vs. In-State Foes
The Big Orange have had plenty of success against in-state programs during now head coach Josh Elander's time on the coaching staff. During Elander's eight seasons as an assistant and associate head coach for the Vols, they are 46-19 overall against in-state opponents, which includes a 6-4 record against ETSU.
