We got to go in there with guns a blazing and take it to them. Gotta a feeling our bats will be alive and well down in Athens. Go Vols! Get off to a good start in conference play by taking a road series win.
Georgia's ballpark plays very, very small.... hopefully our bats continue the plate approach they had last night and it leads to more success!

This team will be fine, regardless of results in March.

I am not a baseball guru- just a fan- but figured it would take time for this team to get going. Enjoy the ride and watch this team improve.

Go Vols!
Too early to tell if they will be fine or if they will struggle. Not time to panic but definitely some concern.

A bunch of others with some concerns too though.

Interesting Stats for the big SEC opening weekend in Athens. A couple of points:
1) GA has played a very weak schedule and didn’t benefit from playing a neutral site tournament like UT did in Arlington.
2) Ironic that GA’s best win was UT’s worst loss (Wright State)
3) GA is the King of the Portal but lack team continuity which has hurt them in postseason play.
4) GA has played 2 more games than UT but didn’t play a weekday game this week.
Team. Record. Top 25 Ranking. RPI. Non Conf SOS. Best Win. Worst Loss
GA 15-3. 8. 123. 243. Wright St. Western Carolina
UT. 12-4. 19. 31. 50. AZ State. Wright St

GA Returning Production* #234
TN Returning Production #167.

*Ranking of returning players from previous season’s roster including returning Plate Appearances, and returning Innings Pitched. It’s basically a measurement of team continuity.

SEC Statistical Rankings as of 3/11/26. Source. SEC Sports.
Avg. Runs. Hits. HRs. RBIs. TBs. SGP. OBP. FP. ERA
GA 2. 1. 1. 1. 1. 1. 1. 1. 1. 9
UT. 14. 14. 14. 9. 14. 11. 9. 14. 5. 7

GA hits the ball exceptionally well and plays excellent defense. TN owns a slight edge in pitching.
