This is a must-see video. One thing Pat said in the video that registered with me is you have to make changes when they are necessary. This is very good advice for all coaches. You can’t just stick to a specific plan when it simply is not working. Pat was everything that epitomizes a great coach both on and off the court.

Kim and Danny hoping none of us watch it and remember what this program once looked like.

Watching how Pat came in at 22 years old with no resources, having bake sales to raise money to buy uniforms and what she built over the years, and then see the destruction of her legacy in one season, just pisses me off even more!

Maybe Kim will watch it and actually learn something!

Kim Caldwell is not destroying her legacy. Pat Summitt, much like Geno, was a once in a generation type coach. It’s difficult to keep that going. We’ll move on and find someone to lead the program eventually. Finding the right coach takes time. And bumps and bruises.

Danny and Kim might as well have taken a dump in front of the statue. What a mess.

I just watched this tonight. I was looking forward to it since it was announced. What a great documentary — though I think it’s fair to say that Pat’s life and accomplishments could fill an entire mini-series of a documentary. A very nice overview of her life and the people in it. I especially enjoyed seeing all of the archival footage and “behind the scenes” of the Lady Vols.

The ending did bring a tear to my eye. I still remember when Pat announced her diagnosis, then retirement, and her tragic early passing. It’s hard to believe it’s been 14 years already since she stepped down. I grew up with the heyday of the UConn/LVs rivalry from the very first 1995 game, and to this day nothing beats it, truly. I always hated losing to TN and always savored the wins because you knew Pat was that damn good of a coach and the LVs were THE standard. Pat paved the way for so many and she’s truly on the Mount Rushmore of WBB figures. Her importance to women’s sports in general — but particularly WBB — genuinely can’t be overstated. She is missed. 😢 💔

She did get a good chuckle out of me though when she said Candace only dunked once at UConn because Geno couldn’t handle twice. 😂 That and the part about not wanting to land the plane in Virginia since they’d lost to them in the regionals. I was like, yep, that’s the HC Pat Summitt remember!
