I thought this was some kind of joke. It doesn't seem like LSU has learned their lesson. I'm sure NC State is kicking themselves for this hire. Besides, they got bounced in the first round by Texas.

I guess LSU thinks with the NIL and portal, they'll be successful with Wade.

I'm assuming LSU made him a "strong-ass offer" to come back.

He will never have to worry about paying players, under the table, anymore at LSU :) :) :)

Don't really understand the love affair with a guy who has made only a single sweet 16 in 8 tournament appearances, but alright I guess.

Yeah,I know football is king in the SEC and getting Kiffin, but talking about settling with Wade. It's like they're not even trying.... I guess mens basketball is in the background with the success with baseball, women's basketball and getting Kiffin now.

He won the SEC in 2019. First time in like 3 decades for LSU. Made the tourney except his first season. Would have made it during Covid unlike Barnes' team.

LSU has said it will give 10+ million for NIL.

When a coach has some success, even if uneven or fleeting, at a school that isn't used to it in a particular sport, people remember. Kind of like Hugh Freeze (he wasn't as good at Ole Miss as most people remember, certainly nowhere near as good as Kiffin was, but it's Ole Miss).

The teams Wade had in his second and third seasons were very good. His first, fourth, and final year teams were just kind of OK, although he was a point away from winning the SECT in 2021. Wade gave them the best run of play they'd seen since probably the early 2000s.

I realize in college coaching, winning is the #1 priority, and character is more of a preferred rather than a required qualification, but LSU isn’t even attempting to put up a facade anymore. They’ll be pulling guys that can play straight out of the bayou penitentiaries before long. Truth is stranger than fiction.

Per Pete Thamel, LSU is paying $72 million in “dead money” not counting asst coaches buyouts since Oct.

They are projecting a $25-35mil deficit this next BEFORE they fired McManhon. They’ll owe NC st Wade’s buyout

It was just over $5 mil before April 1st, $3 mil after. They settled on $4 mil already.
