So yesterday, Thursday March 26, I attended my Fort Pierce (FL) Rotary luncheon at the Pelican Yacht Club. Our guest speaker was Mickey Groody, head coach and AD of John Carroll HS in Fort Pierce. He brought a special guest, Sean Tatum, a highly recruited 4 star Offensive/Defensive Tackle. My fellow members, who are mostly Noles and Gators, were coaxing Sean to head their way and, not knowing what teams have actually been recruiting him, I approached Big Sean after the meeting and (jokingly) said that I had Coach Heupel from University of Tennessee on my cell. Sean's eyes light up and say "Hey, I was just on the phone with Coach Heupel this morning". My mouth opened wide enough for a Whopper to easily fit in and said that he must be kidding me, and he said, no, that he really had been on the phone with CJH earlier in the day. Sean, standing at 6' 5" and weighing in at 320 lbs, could not have been any more complimentary of his visit to Knoxville last Fall when he attended the Oklahoma game. We spoke about the amazing athletic facilities and what really caught his eye was that we have grills on the grounds where players can grill their own steaks. Anyway, he's a great kid and just wanted to pass along this story - and also didn't think it needs to be in the recruiting forum but, that is up to you Freak!
