Goooood Morning Bernard King of the Volunteers! You said that we could beat the Cyclones if we: 1. made our Free throws and 2. limited our turnovers. You hiding some kind of crystal ball at your place??

We had too many turnovers, but damn, we played lock down defense. Barnes is the man

I don’t consider 17 to be “limiting our turnovers”, but we overcame them with great defense and rebounding.

Gonna give most of the credit to the team for the tenacious D. Barnes drew it up, but players executed it to a "T". And yes, I have been down on Barnes most of the season as I felt early on that this team had the talent to return to the Elite 8 yet, we continually squandered too many double digit leads. I think Barnes read my posts Bernard and realized he needed to change his game plan. Glad he did. Go Vols!!!!

I don’t see a changed “game plan”, I see players better executing the same plan?

Yep. March is about players stepping up or they don’t. All of the yelling and tough coaching during the season is to prepare.
Barnes said he’s been harder on Carey than any other player so it’s been great to see a young man respond. He will never forget this run and learn life lessons from it.

SEC had 6 bids and one was Georgia at 17-16 because they won the SECT. Overall a pretty weak SEC showing.

Vols were a #2 seed, beat #15 American, beat #7 Butler, lost to #3 Louisville

Vandy was a #4 seed, lost to #13 Siena.
Mississippi St. was an #8 seed, beat #9 Oregon, lost to #1 Memphis
Arkansas was a #9 seed, beat #8 Indiana, lost to #1 North Carolina
Kentucky was an #11 seed, lost to #6 Marquette
Georgia was a #14 seed, lost to #3 Villanova.

Overall, SEC was pretty weak that year.
