Watching the success with Basketball this year, a year where we have overachieved, I keep wondering when is it going to be our chance in Football. 0 Playoff wins, No SEC titles in the 21st Century, and no real years that I feel like Tennessee has overachieved other than that special 2022 team.

It has been so long. I think Heupel is the right coach. I am NOT excited about this season as it screams rebuilding year. I think bringing in Jim Knowles could pay dividends. The recruiting is getting better. However, it is draining seeing our rivals: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, etc. having top level success (well Florida hasn't recently but the Tim Tebow era was at least this CENTURY).

It is draining. Looking at what Rick Barnes has achieved, what Tony Vitello achieved, etc. I just keep waiting and hoping.

Our school is a Football school, we cut our teeth there. Yet, it has been one of our weakest sports in the 21st Century. In fact, the two sports that Tennessee has had the most historical success at: Football and Women's Basketball, are Tennessee's weakest programs right now.

The SEC getting its teeth knocked in by the B1G in Football regularly might help Tennessee as our rivals all are starting to struggle/show weaknesses. Sounds like the NIL era hasn't been good to the SEC.

Hopefully, something good is coming soon...

When? Between 11:00 and Thursday… You can try to figure out which 11:00 and what Thursday, or you can embrace “this could be the year” each off-season, cheer on the Vols, and see what happens as it transpires.

Coda: I’m old and just GBO all the time.

Georgia is not going to "weaken" as long as Smart is there. Alabama is definitely weaker without Saban. LSU had one great year but otherwise has been kind of meh since Les Miles left. Florida, lol. I am more worried about newcomers like Texas and Oklahoma taking up oxygen than many traditional SEC foes.

You might want to look at Florida spring practice.

Trying to be an "everything school" = less money for football while others are spending double or triple what we are.

Heupel has done a phenomenal job and is a victim of his own success. We are finally stabilizing. Fans need to be patient. UGA was loaded when Kirby took over, same for OSU, Bama. Indiana had a perfect storm where players had been with Cignetti for a long time. That's not going to happen very often.

Also can't play the moral high ground and say Joey shouldn't have been able to come back to give us a better chance and then in the same breath demand a championship with a freshman QB. Not saying you specifically said this part but some have done it.

I'll wait for them to actually do anything in season instead. There's been alot more off-season champions over the years than actual champions. Anyway, we don't play them next year, so I'm not super concerned with how they look in spring practice, no offense to you.

Yes at some point it will. It happens to almost all. Some get out while they are still on top. As he gets older everytime he loses they will question more. It happens! Main thing for us is too worry about Tennessee! GBO

- We are only two seasons removed from the playoff, we will get there again soon
- Florida, LSU have not been having "top level success", and Bama has been on decline too, in fact we have had a winning record vs those schools recently except for UGA
- You are being melodramatic with your emotions again
- Football and Women's BBall aren't our "weakest" programs
- The SEC is 19-17 vs the Big Ten this decade, and the NIL hasn't done anything to the SEC

Who remembers the 90’s where we were excited each week during the football season; that no matter what, we were going to win; except Florida week?

True definition of what my grandpa meant when he said, “good ole days”.

I must be older than your grandpa.

This could be the year…
