Danny White’s, that is.

One program is in total disarray and another looks to be not far behind—both coached by hires White made.

I don’t think Rick Barnes can save White since he not a DW hire, but Heupel is and the AD’s tenure here may be riding on a successful season.

No way White’s job is in jeopardy. Thats definitely not happening. Although it’s important,White’s job is to make money more than winning championships

If Heupel goes 7-5 or worse Danny White’s job will be on the line.

Of course, I wouldn’t be one bit surprised if White doesn’t jump ship on his own.
If the Athletic Department continues to make substantial profit, his job will be fine for a few more years. The table below shows the total revenue/expenses for football, men's basketball, and women's basketball. I think Danny White was hired in FY 2021. A $78.9mil profit in those sports for FY25 compared to 2018's $40.4mil is substantial.

Disagree that Danny White's job is on the line. Heupel has been given all he needs to put together a great team, including:

* Ample money for coaching staff
* Ample money for NIL
* Neyland Stadium
* Top rated facilities for athletes
* One of the top 10 fan bases in the country
* Support from Danny, the UT administration and the community

Time for Coach Heupel to get the football program to the Final 4. Anything less than the "Elite 8" will/should carry consequences.

Long as he puts butts in seats and squeezes the booster base, he’s safe. Keep raising ticket prices and eventually gonna have problems making good on the first task.

If they are really pocketing that money then definitely fire him. It needs to be reinvested in the players.

Each sport will have ups and downs.

It’s only the minority that is up in arms.

Breakdown -

2024- 🏈 = playoffs
2023-2025 🏀 = elite 8
2024- ⚾️ = national champs

2025 ⚾️- didn’t make World Series
2025- football four losses

Women’s 🏀- program is a train wreck now but it’s not a revenue driver.

White will be fine as long as football is doing well. Women’s hoops won’t impact him one way or another.

Anyone remember the good ole days when Marriott had the concession contract for the football games and were doing those $10 specials; drink, smokey dog and chips? That began during the Fulmer era and went through at least the Dooley time. I bet they either renegotiated or stopped bidding. As high priced games are now, see what happens if we start having consecutive 7-5 seasons.

7-5 with a freshman QB won't imo. Now, of they go 7-5 or worse the following season, then yes
It’s the staffs fault we have a freshman QB. I’m not saying he should be on the hot seat…. But let’s assign accountability for the program to the people that are accountable. It’s not a freak accident we have a freshman QB

It’s interesting . I’m not calling for any jobs to be clear….

But baseball was fun in a “I’d leave that **** to Fresno state every year if we could win in Football or basketball.”

We’ve seen success in both football and basketball, but we were never close to winning squat . We got curb stomped by Michigan this year and curb stomped the last few years. We got curb stomped in the college football playoff.

I think we are focusing attention on too much nonsense. We don’t have the money to be elite in every sport. Let’s go football and leave basketball and baseball to the schools that can play football.

What programs are in complete disarray?

Butts in seats? Hehehehe. That's 70s thinking that the AD worries about butts. He worries about eyeballs on screens. The SEC returned $70+M to schools from the media contract.

Danny has ZERO CONTROL over the ridiculous secondary market cost of seats and still has a waiting list for season tickets at face value + donation. Danny doesn't care if those people sell their seats for crazy profits nor should he care.

Donor squeezing matters a lot. You are correct. NIL costs aren't going to drop. If Danny runs into a problem in Knoxville it will be because UT can't find major donors willing to be there year after year.

No AD is losing their job because women’s basketball & baseball teams are struggling.

Big Orange Country is desperate for a human
sacrifice, Kim, Heupel, Elander or White. Anybody.

You’re forgetting kicking our fannies kicked pretty much across the board in major sports by Vandy as well.

White didn’t hire the coaches that made the Elite Eight OR won a NC. However, he did have a substantial hand in the coach winning the national championship moving on.

Yeah, the football team won eight games but just how many of those Ws came against an opponent with a winning record? 🤔 The highlights of the 2025 season was beating a HORRIBLE Florida team and barely losing to Georgia at home.

This to me is fringe-talk. That said, the way Dr Danny works to get a Coach Caldwell replacement at the end of next year (if she has a winning record and makes NCAAT she would be legit SEC COY), and how he handles a potential Coach Barnes replacement will tell the tale.
