Eh, it all sucks now. All of it. Once the pro leagues realized they could market themselves as lifestyle brands, and that putting on an entertaining show was more important than having a game with integrity, the wheels came rolling right off.

It is right now. At least the pros have rules and legal binding contracts. College ... nothing.

That may be some of it. But I think some of it also has to do with their being told where they were going to be slotted in the pay scale and they all think they can get more elsewhere. Folks said this would get worse before it gets better and here we are. Welcome to the future of college sports. Bidding wars for every player after every season.
