Do We Owe CKC An Apology?

Maybe not an apology but if we're riding with her and this team this season then perhaps a commitment and real effort at moving on. And the bottom line for me is that - I'm riding with them. Win, lose or draw. That includes Kim, even though she made me want to rip my hair out at times so far. A little "love/hate" never hurt anybody okay? I'm like the #1 of the critics of the system, but if it's what we're going with, then it's the hill I'm on from now until it does actually succeed or fail this year, which remains to be seen.

If every single pundit and person turns on the coach and team, and Kim and the Lady Vols have one fan left, it's me.

All that other energy can go towards the skeptics, the media, the critics etc. Or, turned inward, repurposed, and directed towards the players and coaches we're getting as support, encouragement, standards and love. BIGGG "it's a mess, but it's ours and y'all don't get to talk about it" energy.

I don't know when people started thinking they could talk slick about TN but that still doesn't go around here. I might chop it up and go a little back and forth with y'all - the insiders. But, it's still, "F you and your slick talk if you don't bleed orange" around here. 😆 🧡

I mean, she has no players left, but then again, our HOF Elite 8 mens' coach is down to 2 players left. She lost a couple of coaches, he lost his #1 assistant. Maybe just a little food for thought...View attachment 824984
Barnes is upgrading with better players and has 3 good recruits coming in. Situations are not even close. They already have the top shooter from portal and likely are adding two top 10 transfers.

No apology, but a wait and see if she can do enough to get this program going in the right direction. She is the coach next year you are either with her or against her. I choose to be with being a Tennessee fan to the core.

Only if we significantly improve from this year and keep on getting better. We must make S16 and an EE in a couple or three years. We must have solid seasons and consistent post season tournament performances. Then we can say she was right and we were wrong. Until that happens, I’m not bought in on her system and ability to coach. We shall see.

He$$ NO we dont OWE her an apology. She owes us a refund for the time wasted watching that disaster and she needs to go back to the midlevel where her system can work. you want the top players then you have to let those top players play for more than a two minute stretch. the hockey line subbing has never made since to me. you never have the best players for that individual game on the floor at the same time. And when someone gets hot you still sub them out. thats why we got beatdown so often.

What the folks over on the BB forum are saying about the ones transferring out is they were getting NIL offers higher than what Barnes was giving them and he didn't' want to match or beat the offers. Guess he believes he can get equal or better players for the same NIL $. No one is leaving due to disliking him or his system.

As other posters have already said their is no comparison to Kims situation.

No apologies for blaming her (and the team and assistants) for last year results. Plenty of blame to go around.
Seeing that she is our coach this coming year, we need to show our support and stop with the firing stuff until we see the results in the fall/winter. It’s always fair to talk about how good or bad a “system” is or to express concerns but still need to support the coach and team until the results are in.

Right now there is a huge difference in Caldwell and Barnes situation. Barnes system is proven and Caldwell system is not.

This!

We do not owe her an apology.

Caldwell and Barnes are not the only ones suffering from portal drain. Nearly every program is suffering from some serious subtractions. The way it's going, we should just force all schools to release all of their players every year and then have a universal draft. Wouldn't that be exciting?

The mafia won’t like this logic
You nailed it big time. The local talking heads got their rear end out of joint on the supposed NIL debate re Tony V vs Lady Vols allocation with Dr Danny. They became jaded assuming this contributed to Tony leaving. They went on a mission to destroy her once she became vulnerable. Mafia is so true!!

Nobody owes anyone an apology. This is college athletics now. I don't think Kim necessarily was the cause of this, but she chose those players and she chose those coaches. As Harry Truman said, the buck stops here.

It's her mess, regardless of whose "fault" it may be, and it's her job to fix it, and she knows that. I support the program and I support her, but she has to roll up her sleeves and get to work on fixing the mess. Which it appears she is trying to do.
