Yes, he’s not posted since early yesterday afternoon. Hope all is well. @1reVOLver, check in!
@Rooster1 and @Smallvol#1

You folks are fine examples of community at work, checking up on the old codger, just because he hasn’t been seen brandishing his ironwood walking stick at the local ruffians. Had to take one of the barn cats to the vet today to see to a scratched cornea.

Had to take Her Britannic Majesty, a.k.a., She Who Must Be Obeyed (Thank you, H. Rider Haggard.) along to keep Tom the semi-feral feline calm. Tom charmed all the veterinary staff, being an elegant old ruffian, had his wounded eye seen to, and home we went, just in time for some snow flurries and a bit of hail. Felt just like a debate about who was least blameworthy in the NC State game.

Warm thanks to both of you.

Love a good barn cat. There is something to earning the trust and respect of a semi-feral creature. I have been found on the ground pleading for many a barn cat to trust me so I can feed or medicate them.

Glad you're around!

I know what that is like. It took two years singing Brazilian Portuguese and Colombian Spanish folk songs to the first litter to let me touch them, followed by some raunchy Gallego tunes for Mamãe and then Era nato poveretto in southern Italian dialect for
Papá Tomás, but now they all come for jowl rubs with morning victuals. Don’t ask me why—I have no idea—but cats seem to like the extended vowel sounds of Romance languages.

I am now trying to teach myself a little Català so I can scare the wild turkeys. It's kind of like old Provençal, I guess. Must be mating season. The males are putting on a show.

Thanks for the update. Knowing you had been ill I was concerned when you did not post.

Now if I could just an update on @Benionsopinion. Not heard from him in a long time and really concerned about him and his wife.

No worries now, for some reason I had one of those thoughts nobody wants to have. Any hoot, glad your feline was cared for but mostly relieved my weird thought was unfounded. Carry on my good man.
