Future surgery for McCoy?

I'll save you all a click. This is not about his ACL. There's concern about a bone plug that was used to repair a cartilage defect in McCoy's knee. There are reportedly some doctors that have seen his scans, and believe McCoy needs another procedure, which would require an "extensive" recovery.

If that's true. He's probably out of the first round.

He didn’t injure himself on a ski trip. He got hurt playing.

If you get hurt at your job, you’re eligible to draw money while you recover and can’t work.

Some of the standards fans hold players to make me laugh.
He got hurt playing basketball.. He’s a football player, FYI.

I can’t find confirmation of that anywhere.

I’d assume you have a good source for that, otherwise one might assume you’re making sh!t up.

It’s over a year old and I listen to many sources. I honestly can’t find anything about what “training” it was. A rumor I remember hearing was playing basketball.

The important part is that it was confirmed to have nothing to do with the University of Tennessee since it was in the state of Texas during a dead period. You said it was team related, which was not true.

It was offseason training, which every player does. You’re the one that made a claim based on nothing but a rumor.

ACLs end seasons. Anyone expecting him to risk reinjury in a couple of meaningless games was very naive.

I’m the one? You stated it as a workman’s compensation claim.

What does it matter what kind of exercises he was doing in his personal time?

If it wasn’t a part of team activities, I doubt the university’s insurance would cover the costs at any rate.
They are given offseason training regimens and they can’t all take place in team facilities. Players often work out at their old high school when they go home, or wherever. We’re covered for such things. Idk if it’s 100% or what the details are of this specific situation. But we shouldn’t be spreading unsubstantiated rumors . The frustration that he never made it back is understandable.

I think I probably heard the basketball rumor on someone’s YouTube stream. I shouldn’t have stated it the way I did. It could have been sarcasm that I missed, for all that I know. I didn’t intentionally make it up out of thin air, but I shouldn’t have said it because it’s not written anywhere.

And a bone plug is used to treat OA. Picture a golf divot but in the joint in the cartilage and re covering it. It will not show up on an xray, so this would be from surgical notes or maybe mri.
What it does show is his knee damage was more than an acl and likely the cause of his continued swelling/fluid on the knee.
Pushing him to come back and griping that he didn’t last year with this additional news and not giving time for the body to absorb the bone plug makes even less sense but by all means sit on your couches and tell him what he should’ve done which is come back on your time to play ball on a knee that may cost him his career.

You can never take all these rumors about highly valued draft targets very seriously imo. Teams are jostling trying to do whats best for themselves and could care less about what that means to others. Sounds more like to me that someone is wanting McCoy to drop far enough they can take him. Seems like if this were true, it'd be more hush hush as teams would keep quiet and let another team use a high pick on someone who'd be out an extended period of time.

Either way I wish him well. Some of these injuries are a deal breaker no matter how it happened.

Most things you say, shouldn't be said. Yet, here we are.

Just curious, would sex count as training? It’s great for the heart and endurance.

Most things I say need to be said, yet you shy away from it like an awkward teen at a high school dance. Why shouldn’t it be said that he injured himself during personal activities?
