MH is a favorite VOL for me. He played lights out behind a patchwork OLine. Kiffin showed me he could coach when that 2009 offense began to execute well. There was some blue chip talent, but some holes as well.

If he can coach and practice the way he played himself, he will be successful.

Awesome news - thank for sharing !!
I've always liked Hardesty and wonder what he could have been behind some of the better O-Lines that came through UT.
Like what kind of numbers would he have put up behind a Fulmer coached line...

Excited to watch his coaching career progress and not going to lie that I wouldn't mind seeing him back on the hill at some point.

Waited 5 years before he really got to show out for the Vols. I miss those days when we were running back U. Good luck, sir!

In 1980 they closed Bellevue High and sent the kids to Hillwood. Now they have put high school back in Bellevue, but named it James Lawson.
Searched but can’t find yes/no answer. Is it essentially a magnet school in 5A?

James Lawson High School used to be called Hillwood High. it's just a regular public high school.

In fact, Lawson is in the same 5A district as my kid's school (Page High). So I'll get to see him coach every year. Page absolutely destroys that team every year so hopefully they will get more competitive now.

Is this a newer school? I’d never heard of it before reading this thread.
Lawson was built and opened in 2023. It’s off Highway 70, north of I-40 at mile 196 in Bellevue, TN. It’s a nice little residential area by the Harpeth River, but it’s developing quickly. Lots of multi-family housing going up in the surrounding area. I drive by it sometimes.
