His people screwed him. If he was able to play in 2025 he should have. If he wasn’t able he should have come back to UT in 2026. He has cost himself a lot of money in his choices, which I am sure were based on information from his team.

McCoy shouldn’t have sat . Him falling shows why. Have to prove he was fine. Took a gamble and well, paying for it .
My question is when did he know about the knee injury after the ACL. That's something you're not going to hide from NFL doctors.
If it was something he could've done early enough that he could play a game or two of the season or at least workout at the Combine it may have benefited him

I am not at all surprised he is still not drafted. Huge mistake by sitting out the season. It cost him millions of $$$. NFL wants players who want to play, especially under tough conditions.

There’s a good chance the ACL part was doing just fine. The “bone plug” part for a cartilage injury can take much longer to incorporate and heal. It’s not unreasonable to think that it could take a year or more for that cartilage plug to take the load of an NFL caliber athlete. That is new information, as far as I can tell, from what Volnation was aware of before the draft. Makes complete sense why he wasn’t ready for this season. The big question for NFL teams is whether or not it’s “healing” or not. So also makes sense why he’s dropping.

Yup that make sense.
Now it makes you wonder if he should've came back and played the 2026 year at UT. I guess when all the board are saying you're a first round you'd want to go but I'd hope my agent is talking to NFL teams before hand and getting a good gauge on where he may be picked

Sure looks that way and he still had eligibility to do so. Donte Moore was said to be top 5 pick and a QB and he went back to Oregon.
So if that guy can do it, you'd think others would think about that also, especially now that NIL is a thing and you have options

But he performed well at pro day. Enough to keep him high on the board. So maybe medical thinks he’ll be 100% in another 6 months?? Then it would be worth falling a bit in the draft

Lot of folks on VN acting like they have access to McCoy's medical records. To quote my father: "assumptions make an ass out of you and me."

Congrats to Hood!

Yeah but that could've been a shoot'm up to get through the day thing. Seems if he was going to possible be good to go in 6 months he would've gone before Hood.
Still lot of picks left in the 2nd

ETA SC CB just got picked by GB

There’s concerns that McCoy is going to need another surgery, apparently.
Starting to look like if his team knew the knee issue wasn't going well last year and high chance he was going to need a second surgery. He probably should've went ahead and had it and tried to get back for the 2026 season with the Vols to show he was good to go.
