According to this Former Vols coach Phillip Fulmer isn't on the same page as Tennessee AD Danny White on an issue that will impact UT football and other articles, Fulmer thinks the playoffs should stay at 16 teams. White likes the idea of 24 teams.

Who’s correct? 24 teams makes it awful easy to get in and thus, potential revenue producer. Did we receive more money for our playoff appearance versus bowl games?
"At odds" makes it seem like it is bigger than it is. Fullmer is a traditionalist, or old timer, take your pick. White is a progressive and wants the best revenue stream for UT. Nothing in that article in my mind.

Danny needs a sabbatical in order to clear his mind so he and Phil can get back on the same page.

Here’s an idea that’s gonna be very controversial to some of y’all. It doesn’t ****ing matter. Just cause Coach Fulmer don’t agree with Danny White on how big the playoffs should be doesn’t mean he’s “at odds” he’s still gonna support Tennessee if he agrees with the AD about how big the playoffs should be or not.

Huge fan of Fulmer. Super thankful for all he’s done for our university. However his AD fiasco really made his opinion null and void.

16........or 8. 24 is too many and 12 don't make sense. Nobody needs a bye.

I still like the idea of 2 - 4 teams, but that ship has sailed so I reckon the more teams there are, the better our chances are of getting in, right?!

Seems like someone is trying to stir the pot. \Our Athletic Department doesn’t need this to happen. Best to drop it.

I want to care about what the worst AD in program history thinks. But I have to put down mulch this weekend so unfortunately that makes the 143rd current thing more important than Phil’s opinion.

A to Z sports likes to try and create content out of thin air when nothing is actually available. The much bigger story is that Danny White disagreed publicly w/ Sankey, who wants a 16 team CFP. That rarely happens. It’s pretty unprecedented.

It seems to me that at this time in college athletics, a good AD will be trying to increase their school's financial balance. This would, in my opinion, help to keep the money coming in. Of course, we, as fans, want that money because we are one of the elite teams, not because the number of teams was raised.
