Well, despite what may appear to be a contrary majority opinion on this site, Ms Paige is not alone in her opinion. This excerpt is from the article linked below.

Kim Caldwell completely reshaped Tennessee’s roster after heavy departures. Maryland transfer Kaylene Smikle enters Knoxville with a career scoring average of 17.1 points per game. Naomi White ranked 15th nationally in scoring as a freshman, while Fatmata Janneh and Kennedy Fauntleroy bring SEC experience and veteran leadership.

This team is not made up of rejects and all mid-level players as some on here want you to believe. A play hard competitive team can win some games they are not supposed to win. No one knows at this point what the ceiling is for this team but I don't see the floor being the bottom of the SEC and won't make the NCAA tourney, especially with the expanded version now.

CKC had a tough year last year, and more than a few folks wanted her fired. I’m not in that company. If she can turn this program around, I think she will become a legend here. I’m not sure what happened last year. She had lots of young players, and when things didn’t go well, they were ready to give up. I’m anxious to see what she can do with this class.

Indeed! The change was necessary. All of them! Hopefully, we kick some butt next season!

I think our team this coming year is a question mark as to how everything will come together..... that comment is neither a positive nor negative we just will not know how everything comes together until we get into league play..... jhope for the best
I actually think(hmmm) that we will have a very good idea b4 then. We are looking at team chemistry and effort with hopefully positive results. You can see b4 SEC league play how personalities and effort are showing or not.

There are enough really good 3 point shooters on this team that when they get on a roll, they will be tough for anyone to beat, and I believe they will achieve one or more upset victories. By the same token, I believe an unexpected loss or two will crop up when they just can't buy one.

Also, just as much a concern is if teams continue to beat the press and score over again and no plan B.

If we look at this objectively, this ranking is a mixed bag. On the plus side, this portal worked out far better than many (including myself) expected it to. CKC brought a set of experienced, quality 4 players plus a few promising mid majors and a few players who are likely to be squad depth.

But, the 8 teams ranked ahead are bringing in players to complement an existing squad versus bringing in an entirely new team that has to be molded.

Last season, CKC had a top 3 HS school class and portal class and everybody knew in the preseason that that group was going to take the basketball world by storm.

So, I think DueTail (post above) had it right with the stance of cautious optimism.

They are bottom half of the SEC.

This is true, I saw last year but stayed quiet after the NC State game. I thought there was just not something right and the 5 newcomers looked rough and not as advertised also the Ruby thing. I knew after that game it would be a steep climb with no upper class leaders and depending on 5 true green freshmen. I stayed quiet hoping I was wrong.
So I also do think you will be able to see if the chemistry and leadership is there before SEC, we do play a few tough games before SEC.
